Birthed from the highly diverse San Francisco Bay Area, The Grizzly Peak has set sail and aimed their sights on creating an album "that changes the world." Almost rudely ambitious at times, The Grizzly Peak has begun their long journey to a place where no person has ever been. The lead singer and main songwriter, Adam Stern, began to see his dreams coalesce and come to fruition when he met drummer/ songwriter/ producer, Stefan Litrownik in Berkeley CA, in mid 2002.

The duo began to mold and shape the many swirling ideas that popped out of their brains and turn them into supremely crafted works of accessible soul music. Their song-stylings crystallized as Adam’s infectious hooks and energetic soulful singing style complimented Stefan’s tightly perfected organic sense of groove. At the time, the only right pick for a bassist was Stefan’s long time friend and brilliant producer/ engineer, Matt Radosevich. After a years worth of shows, Matt decided to part ways because of time obligation to his first love- recording.

Once again a duo, they intently auditioned musicians from the confines of the learning institution of UCLA and decided to add William Hauser on lead guitar, Aki-Yoshi Ehara on bass, and Elliot Deutsch on trumpet. The group tirelessly crafted their own original voice, however staying strictly within the confines of modern popular song structure- verse, pre-chorus, chorus, bridge etc…Currently, with the fresh technical prowess of Will’s guitar, to the sensual sounds of Elliot’s trumpet, to the highly melodic groove based parts of Aki-Yoshi, The Grizzly Peak is well on their way to recording a “world changing album.”

The Grizzly Peak is currently working on material for a full-length album that is set to release in late 2005-2006. The Grizzly Peak plays soul music of a remarkably ambitious and highly original kind with lyrics of harsh truthtelling that set up an intimate conversation between artist and listener; and singing of sheer, strong beauty inspires and resonates. The Grizzly Peak works to create music that will be as relevant in 2090 as it is today.
